                  MOYSE'S HALL one of England's
                  few surviving Norman houses dates
                  from around 1180, although the only
                  remaining Norman exterior features are the two
                  moulded arches framing the windows above the
                  entrance; the interior is much better preserved.
                 
                  In 1899 the hall was purchased by the Borough Council for use as the Borough Museum.
