Today, the gallery continues to feature a wide range of work by artists and craftspeople both British and foreign; from oil, watercolour and etching to ceramic, glass and wood. Industrial and commercial art and photography are also represented from time to time.
Past triumphs have included the works of John Bratby, illustrations of Appollinaire's poems by Braque and etchings by Chagall (the latter in conjunction with a festival organised by London's South Bank). An important part of the gallery's work is the strong link it has with the local schools and colleges, offering a venue for exhibitions by budding artists as well as a means of understanding art.
