The building of ST MARY'S CHURCH began late in the 14th century on the
site of a Norman Church. The interior is impressive, particularly the roof of the
nave. Henry VIII's sister Mary Tudor was re-buried in the sanctuary when her tomb was transferred from the abbey after its dissolution in 1539.
