The ST EDMUND STATUE was
commissioned by the former West Suffolk
County Council in 1974 to mark the
amalgamation of the two administrative areas of east
and west Suffolk. It was sculpted by Elisabeth Frink
(DBE 1982) who was born and educated in Suffolk.
